Our Veterinarians

Dr. Sam Lester, DVM

Dr. Sam Lester earned his DVM at Tufts University in Massachusetts.  He spent a number of years working in emergency medicine before starting the Coventry Animal Hospital.  He still helps run the Coventry practice and is excited to get another practice going in Westerly.  Sam’s wife Carrie is a veterinary internal medicine specialist and helps out when necessary. They have two beautiful daughters.  Sam enjoys spending time with his family, especially in or near the ocean.

Dr. Fred Levy, DVM

Dr. Fred Levy grew up in a suburb of New York City. He studied Animal Sciences, then earned his DVM degree at Cornell University. Following graduation, Dr. Levy did his internship training at the Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, took a short, 6-year detour to Gainesville, Florida to practice in an overnight emergency hospital (not quite the beach scene we have here in Westerly), then settled down in Rhode Island. For the following 7 years, Dr. Levy worked at the Ocean State Veterinary Specialists as one of their emergency clinicians before leaving ER work for good to join the ranks of general practice and, eventually, the excellent group at Coventry Animal Hospital. It’s exciting to get the opportunity to start a practice from ground-up, and Dr. Levy is looking forward to the challenge. Dr. Levy enjoys just about every part of veterinary medicine but has a strong lean towards surgery. He’s kept busy at home by his 3 fantastic children, Sarah, Katy, and Tyler, who are continually teaching him new ways to drive a parent crazy (who knew there were so many different ways?!?!). Other residents of the Levy household are two dogs, Benny and Bogaerts, and a bearded dragon named Odell. Outside of work, Dr. Levy tries to find time to hike with his dogs, watch and occasionally coach his children in whatever sports they are playing that season, and hopefully catch any Steelers or Red Sox games that might be on TV at the time.

Dr. Logan Landroche, DVM

Dr. Logan graduated from vet school in 2018 from Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine. Ross Med’s campus is located in St Kitts and Nevis! Her first job as a veterinarian was at Pieper Memorial Veterinary Hospital as a Small Animal rotating intern. Dr. Logan’s favorite thing about working in vet med is seeing the positive outcomes after all the hard work that she puts into a case.
Outside of work, Dr Logan enjoys working out, spending time with her family and friends, or staying home and watching Netflix with the pups! She has two dogs. Zeus is a 13.5-year-old “coconut retriever” and Stag is a 2-year-old American bulldog

Dr. Brittany Klinker, DVM

Dr. Klinker earned her DVM from Tufts Veterinary School in 2019. She worked at a couple small animal practices in MA before finally settling down in RI and starting with Salt Ponds Animal Hospital in 2024. Dr. Klinker loves focusing on preventive care to help keep your pets healthy for as long as possible but also enjoys helping senior pets and their owners navigate the changes and common disease processes that often come with old age. Outside of work, Dr. Klinker loves spending time with her husband and toddler as well as their cat, Winnie, and Golden Retriever, Wallaby.
